Christo and Jeanne-Claude

Something to look forward to concerning the art world is Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s latest project, Over The River.

Christo and Jeanne-Claude are a couple whose artworks are based on environmental installation. Some of their works include the Wrapped Coast, the Valley Curtain, the Running Fence, The Umbrellas, and more recently, The Gates. 

None of their endeavors are permanent, usually lasting only a few weeks each, and the only reminders are from Christo’s original sketches, which are drawn and designed in the planning phases and then sold to finance the landscape artworks.

Over The River is to be constructed on the Arkansas River in Colorado’s Sangre de Cristo mountains. To learn more about the project, click here.
